We would just like to say how proud we are of all of our year 6s for their achievements this week. They have shown amazing self-belief and resilience to overcome some difficult challenges and have worked well to support each other to ensure that they could all be successful. They are all wonderful people. Now...GO TO SLEEP!

Once again, our year 6s who visit East Barnby this year will be taking part in and completing 'The John Muir Award'. The award is an environmental award scheme that encourages pupils and students (from upper primary school) to connect with, enjoy and care for wild places through a structured yet adaptable scheme. Highlights from today, a rather large hole needed digging in the wild for one of our year 6s to have a REAL wilderness experience! Another decided to lose their glasses at the bottom of the beck while scrambling this afternoon...don't worry, they were eventually found! Happy days! Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. xx WednesdayPosted 15/11/2018 Another wonderful day of activities and new challenges. The skiing proved to be a great challenge and great fun! We even manged to fit in some orienteering, mountain biking and the 'night line' activity! TuesdayPosted 14/11/2018 What an exciting second day; canoeing down the river Esk in to Whitby harbor. We asked some interesting questions, like 'Why do the boys have pineapple hair?' and realised some very important things about ourselves, such as, 'I need a bigger head!' We also had an, 'Ahhhh, there's something spikey on me!' The day finished with a bit of alien hunting around the East Barnby site where Pauline caused us great problems and the quote of the day was, 'I've found Graham but I already had Graham. Now I've got two Grahams but they're the same alien!' Classic! MondayPosted 12/11/2018 A wonderful first day had by all at East Barnby. We were greeted with bed making and being issued out waterproofs and wellies. Our two groups then went mountain biking and shelter building. We learnt that you need to use your feet to ride a bike; a right welly and a left welly are needed for your right foot and left foot; the little brown round things we find on the floor of the moors aren't always chocolate raisins and it's always best when a teacher's trousers fit properly!! Get packing!!Posted 10/11/2018 Only Saturday and Sunday to go until the big trip! Remember money and medicine needs to handed to teachers on Monday morning! Exciting times!! :-) Welcome to our East Barnby pagePosted 10/11/2018 Please find on this page a kit list and programme which we will be following during our visit to East Barnby.
