July 2018 - Disco Time!

We had a great time at our discos with some great moves on show and some even better outfits!

July 2018 - Year 6 Primary Edge

Year 6 joined Foundation Stage for a Primary Edge extravaganza! This term, Year 6 have been working on their Laura Leadership skills. Using their initiative and teamwork, Year 6 planned a series of activities for Foundation Stage children. Foundation Stage used their Raj Resilience and Charlie Communication skills to complete the different challenges which included putting on a play, playing football, drawing mini-beasts, making shadow puppets and even constructing houses! A great morning was had by all, well done to everyone involved!

July 2018 - Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 Fun Run

Huge congratulations and well done to all of our Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 fun runners! Special mention goes to Olivia who finished 3rd in the year 1 girls race and Tegan who finished 3rd in the year 2 girls race. Remarkably, our year 1 boys stole the show with their outstanding performance...well done to Zac (1st), Jasper (2nd) and Callum (3rd). A wonderful Michael Syddall 1, 2, 3! Thank you to all the parents who could help.

July 2018 - Celebration Day Picnic

Thank you to everyone who was able to make our Celebration Day Picnic. It turned out to be a lovely day with plenty of warm weather and some delicious lunches on offer!

June 2018 - Primary Edge Fun!

Year 2 and Foundation Stage loved working with each other in Primary Edge this week to use our different skills. Year 2 were using their Laura Leadership skills to teach the children how to perform in our 'Mini Olympics' and the Foundation children used great Izzy initiative and Charlie communication skills to ensure they carried out their tasks well. Well done to all of the children!

June 2018 - Yorkshire PE Premium Awards

We had the pleasure of attending the Yorkshire PE Premium Awards to receive our award for the impact of our PE Premium money on 'Whole School Improvement' as North Yorkshire Winner. We met Olympian, Commonwealth Games Gold Medal Winner and BBC Commentator Craig Heap; Paralympic and World Champion and World Record Holder Hannah Cockroft and the amazing Ray Matthews who ran 75 marathons in 75 days at the age of 75 to raise money for a special school in Rotherham.

Most impressively...we won the 'Whole School Improvement' Award for the whole of the Yorkshire and Humber Region which was revealed this afternoon. A true testament to the impact of our PE, Sport and Physical Activity work. To see the size of the area that award covers...check out the map in the images attached to this post! Wonderful work and a huge achievement for our school.

June 2018 - Key Stage 2 Sports Day

Well done to all of our Key Stage 2 for their participation in Sports Day. Some marvelous competition throughout the day and incredible teamwork and encouragement for each other. Congratulations to 'Scott' who won with 316 points and completed the FS & KS1 and KS2 'Sports Day Double'! Thank you for everyone's support. Great work everyone

June 2018 - Rounders Tournament

Well done to our rounders teams who took part in a competition at Richmond School. One of our teams made it through to the semi finals but unfortunately didn't make it past that point despite a very valiant effort. Well done to everyone involved! Results HERE soon!

June 2018 - Key Stage 1 Sports Day

Thank you to everyone who supported our Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 Sports Day today. A wonderful time had by all...well done to Scott Team who won overall with 918 points, great effort. Great work from the staff who took part in the obstacle race...strangely enough there appear to be no photos of that one! Feel free to send any in!

June 2018 - MSSA Summer Event

A huge thank you for all the support for the MSSA Summer Event. Thank you to 5th Regiment Royal Artillery for their support, the vehicles and kit which they brought down and for their help in setting up and yet again to all the members of the MSSA - you are all wonderful people! The Silent Auction was a great success with lots of people getting some wonderful prizes. 

If you would like to get more involved in the MSSA and find out what they do, please speak to the school office or Mr Saunders.

June 2018 - Tesco Bags of Help Winners!

Thank you to Tesco Catterick Garrison who presented us with our cheque from the 'Bags of Help' vote in store. We won with over 72,000 votes! Amazing stuff and a great help towards the work we are planning for our outdoor spaces. Thank you to everyone who supported us and voted!

June 2018 - Quad Kids Athletics

We took a team of year 1/2 children, a team of year 3/4 and a team of year 5/6 to the 'Quad Kids' Athletics competition at Catterick Garrison Athletics Stadium. Each team member takes part in a throw, standing long jump, sprint and long distance race with scores going towards an overall team total. Our year 1/2 team came an amazing 2nd out of 15 schools, our year 3/4 team came 3rd out of 17 schools and our year 5/6 team also came 3rd out of 15 schools. Well done to everyone involved. June 2018 - Armed Forces Day

We had a great day on Armed Forces Day taking part in a huge variety of activities on the Garrison with children from other schools. We would like to say a massive THANK YOU to our amazing Armed Forces for organising the day and to everyone who came with us to help.
