March 2019 - STEM Club

In STEM club this week, the children explored the beautiful flowers around school. We discussed how to care for flowers and what they need in order to grow. The children did some observational drawings using pastels and created some beautiful pictures!

March 2019 - Year 3 All Stars Cricket

The Year 3s went to Richmond School to take part in the All Stars Cricket festival. They focused on their cricket skills and took part in many different activities which involved throwing, catching, running and batting. The children were a real asset to the school and showed off their FANTASTIC cricket skills. Even the adults had a go, especially on the dive and catch activity. A wonderful morning! Well done Year 3!

March 2019 - Year 1 @ Wackadayz!

Our year 1s enjoyed a trip to Wackadayz earlier in the week as they aimed to raise money for Cancer Research. So far, they have raised a wonderful £130 through donations! Many thanks to Wackadayz for their support and for donating the time in their facility and to parents who helped with transport and made donations.

March 2019 - PIG RACING!!

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Pig Racing Night. We had over 100 members of our school community turn up for a night of great fun! Special thanks go to Catterick Service Station who sponsored the race card and our race sponsors: Mrs Wright, Catterick Village Co-Op, Catterick Village Fisheries, Catterick Social Club, Wackadayz and ML Sports & Fitness...your support is greatly valued - thank you. Over the night we made an amazing £536. Special thanks to our MSSA members for the work they put in.

March 2019 - Indoor Cricket Week 1

Well done to our indoor cricketers who competed at ML Sports & Fitness in Richmond. A very different experience playing cricket inside but one which was good fun! Some super catches and good shots didn't stop us losing both matches. We return in two weeks for our play off match..well done team!

March 2019 - Eco Team clear up!

Our Eco-Committee, helped by our Eco-Team, have started the mammoth job of clearing a site in the school grounds to turn in to a wildlife garden and vegetable area. Here's just some of the old bushes, twigs and leaves they have collected as well as clearing rubbish from the site. We have trees and bushes ready to plant to create what will be a wonderful place for us all to use, learn and relax in. Watch this space!

March 2019 - World Book Day

We had a great day sharing books with each other. Classes joined together with our older children buddying up with the younger ones to demonstrate our brilliant school community. There were some amazing costumes...well done to everyone and thank you for getting stuck in!

March 2019 - Year 1/2 Topic Launch - Farms and Cities

Our year 1/2 children had a great time during their topic launch for their new topic, 'Farms and Cities'. There was a lot of making and doing going on and only a little bit of mess made...honest! The main thing is everyone had a great time to launch their topic with some wonderful work.

March 2019 - Year 3/4 Volcanoes!

Over the holidays, Years 3 and 4 were asked to create a volcano using different materials as part of their new topic. Quite a few children brought in their volcanoes on the first day back and they are INCREDIBLE!!!! We are so impressed with all the hard work they have put into making them and we would like to thank everyone at home for their support. 
We can't wait to see the rest!

March 2019 - School Games Update

Our School Games journey continues during the first week back with the year 3/4 hockey competition at Richmond School. We are also rapidly approaching cricket and tennis season with School Games events to prepare for either side of Easter. We also have an interest in the Level 3 Cross Country Finals to be held at Dalby Forest in March with 2 year 3 girls and 1 year 4 boy running there...keep an eye out on the website and our Facebook page for how they get on.
