News April to May 2018

May 2018 - Year 5/6 Community Football

We took two teams to play in the 'Catterick & Colburn Cluster Cup' at the Catterick Garrison Football Centre. Some superb results were ground out during the afternoon. Following the group matches, both of our teams made the semi finals, one team as group winners and one as best overall runners up. Our teams faced the 2 Le Cateau teams, with our 'team 1' losing 2-0 and our 'team 2' winning 2-1 after extra time...and what will go down in Michael Syddall history as the greatest goal ever scored by Riley! In the final, our team won a very comfortable 1-0...if such a thing exists! Click HERE for full results.

May 2018 - Foundation Stage visit 5th Regiment Royal Artillery at Marne Barracks

Foundation Stage visited the 5th Regiment Royal Artillery at Marne Barracks today for an exciting dinosaur adventure. We began our adventure by playing hide and seek in the woods, getting to know the area and exploring where the boundaries were. After, the children designed and created a dinosaur home, using natural materials, for the dinosaurs they created last week. They showed fantastic teamwork and used their Primary Edge skills - Charlie Communication, Izzy Initiative and Olly Organisation, to help them create their homes.

The children have had an amazing day and we would like to thank the 5th Regiment Royal Artillery for helping to organise the visit, building our dinosaur dens, transporting us and looking after us!!

May 2018 - Year 3/4 Community Football

We took 2 teams of year 3/4 footballers to Catterick Garrison to play in the Community Football Event. Superb team work and determination to do well resulted in some excellent performances and scores. Well done to everyone and a huge thank you to our parents who helped transport and supported the teams during the afternoon.

May 2018 - Foundation Stage Dinosaurs...

To end our topic of 'Dinosaurs', Foundation Stage invited their parents in to create their favourite dinosaurs out of clay.  We had a wonderful afternoon and the children produced some fantastic dinosaurs. Thanks to all parents and family members who were able to make it!

May 2018 - Cricket Tournaments

We took a year 3/4 team and a year 5/6 team to the cricket tournament at Richmond Cricket Club.  Both year 3/4 and 5/6 teams competed with 100% effort and supported each other magnificently. The improvement in confidence since last year was great to see and the sportsmanship and recognition of good play from teams was wonderful too. Smiles all round! Well done!

April 2018 - Skip2bfit

What an amazing day we had today with Dave from Skip2bfit. The whole school worked incredibly hard and everyone was determined to beat their skipping score. We all found out that we can be the best they can be and improve on what we can do with some hard work, commitment and resilience. Luke and Sophie also proved that children are better than teachers! Who knew!

Another fantastic Duck Race on a glorious day at the beck. Thank you to the MSSA for organising and to everyone for their support and for buying ducks. We are happy to say they all finished safely!
