News March to Easter 2018

March 2018 - Easter Service

Many thanks to everyone who was able to join us in St Anne's for our Easter Service. We hope you all had a lovely time and have an enjoyable break.

March 2018 - Easter PlayMakers!

The Y6 playmakers organised their own Easter afternoon for the Foundation Stage using their Olly Organisational skills. They organised rabbit races, egg and spoon races, relay races and an Easter egg hunt. The children had so much fun and used their fantastic listening skills to follow instructions from the Year 6s. Thank you playmakers!

March 2018 - Easter Afternoon

A huge thank you to everyone for their support with the MSSA Easter afternoon today and to the MSSA for organising. The decorated egg entries were particularly impressive...super effort from all who took part and well done to the winners from each year group.

March 2018 - Disco Time!

Another wonderful disco took place at school organised by the MSSA. Some amazing dance moves filled the evening and some even more amazing hair styles and outfits! :-)

March 2018 - North Yorkshire Cross Country Finals

Our 3 year 6 girls appeared at the North Yorkshire Cross Country Finals at Dalby Forest representing Richmondshire. The competition was tough but a great day was had by all...what a wonderful experience! We even bumped in to a very angry apple during the day! :-)

Well done girls, you made us all very proud!

March 2018 - Year 1 International Music

As part of international day, Year 1 spent some time looking at music from around the world. They recreated and performed the music having learnt about it during the day. Amazing!

March 2018 - Motty appears in Year 5

Motty our school Maths Mascot made an appearance in Year 5 this week. He was just in time to learn about adding and subtracting fractions with different denominators and converting fractions. The Year 5s really enjoyed teaching him and think he's top of the class!

March 2018 - Indoor Football League - Team 2 Week 2

A wonderful week's football was played with the team learning from last week. Some superb teamwork and battling made the matches competitive but this week we had much more luck in front of goal! Two stunning performances against Richmond CofE, which we won 6-0, and Richmond Methodist, which we won 4-0, meant we finished the competition in 3rd place! If only we could've taken our chances last week! Click HERE for the results.

March 2018 - Cross Country

We took 40 key stage 2 children to the cross country event, this year held at Richmond School. It was a wonderful day and as always a magnificent event. Well done to all of our runners! Special mention goes to Noah who overall finished 15th, Omari who finished 16th and Riley who finished 16th in their races. Amazingly, Chantelle (4th), Genesis (5th) and Alicia (6th) ran wonderful races and qualified for the North Yorkshire Finals at Dalby Forest. Magnificent!

March 2018 - Indoor Football League - Team 2 Week 1

We took a team of mixed year 4s and 5s to play against year 5s and 6s in the second part of the Indoor Football League. Our team played some stunning football, controlled possession and had chance after chance to score in all of their games but somehow managed to lose each one narrowly! Wonderful performances and a great warm up for next week where we hope luck is on our side!

March 2018 - Indoor Football League - Team 1 Week 2

Our team of year 6s played the second week of their indoor football league against the same teams as the week before. An improved determination for results and passion to do well meant a better overall performance than during week 1 with us winning 2 and losing 2 of our 4 matches including giving the overall winners a scare during the last match by being 2-1 up half way through the game! Wonderful attitude and teamwork! A 3rd place finish overall against some very difficult teams. Well done!

March 2018 - World Book Day

Due to the amount of snow, we held our World Book Day a day late! We had a whole host of amazing and wonderful costumes and had an great time sharing our favourite books with other classes around school. Well done to everyone for such a terrific set of costumes.
