June 2019 - Key Stage 2 Sports Day

We have had a truly fantastic day for our Key Stage 2 Sports Day. Jenny Wallwork (our YST Athlete Mentor) commented how amazing every child was throughout the day, their attitude and effort and how impressed she was with their mindset and knowledge about physical and mental health. She even got a bit emotional during the races due to the encouragement and moral demonstrated by all children. Final placings for the day were Booth (4th) 275 pts, Syddall (3rd), 285 pts, Lindsey (2nd) 329 pts and Scott (1st) 343 points. Thank you for all the support and well done to all of our athletes!

June 2019 - Year 1/2 Topic Launch

In year 1 and 2, we launched our topic today with a music day dedicated to the seasons. We linked our understanding to weather patterns we see in the UK and how this links to the different seasons. We learnt the song ‘rain rain go away’ (as we discovered this is the weather we see a lot of!) and sang it in a round. We then out music to the song using lots of instruments which ‘sound like rain’. In the afternoon, the children created their own weather songs based on a season of their choice. They worked in groups to understand how they would use pitch, dynamics, pulse and tempo to create their perfect tune including instruments. We all enjoyed our day- well done Y1/2.

National School Sport's coming!

May 2019 - Richmond SportsFest

We are so incredibly proud of everyone who took part in SportsFest at Richmond Cricket Club. A huge thank you goes to ML Sports & Fitness, Mike and all the volunteers for making the day possible and so enjoyable. Have a lovely half term everyone.

May 2019 - Brownlee Foundation Triathlon

We had a wonderful day at the Brownlee Foundation Triathlon in York. A great mix of swimming, cycling and running which was a very different but amazing experience. Unfortunately, the men themselves weren't there as they are training at the moment but we did find a cardboard cut out! Well done to everyone who took part.

May 2019 - Lego Competition

A few pictures from the Lego Competition held at Richmond School. The children all worked amazingly as a team together and created some incredible and fantastic designs which wowed the Year 10s at Richmond School. All children represented the school perfectly and we are so proud of them all. We were runners up in both the programming and the creative story telling parts of the day. Well done folks!
