October 2016 - Netball Fun!Netball TeamNetball Team

We took our year 5 and 6 netball team to a tournament at Richmond School.

After not a lot of training, we went with the game plan of having a good time! This was a target which was met with ease by every member of the team, who each showed great teamwork and perseverance during their 3 group matches.

Well done to all involved! Back to the court for more training!

October 2016 - Camo Day!

Once again there was huge effort made  by all at Michael Syddall in support of Camo Day.  The children really did us proud and raised an amazing  £116.05 for S.S.A.F.A The Armed Forces Charity.

Foundation Stage really got stuck in... they created their own assault course and imagined they were going on their own army training. They explored what soldiers get up to and how they keep themselves fit. They had so much fun!

Tjae, 'I enjoyed jumping in the hula hoops, like we were jumping in the mud'.

October 2016 - Book Buddies Launch!

We have started our 'Book Buddies' peer reading where the Year 6's listen and read with the Foundation Stage.

We have had lots of fun and the Year 6's  thoroughly enjoyed reading stories to the Foundation children.

More to come in the future!

October 2016 - Year 6 visit to Crucial Crew

Our year 6s went on their visit to Crucial Crew, learning about risks and safety in a variety of environments and what to do in an emergency.

A wide range of organisations were there, from the Police to Road Safety, the Fire Brigade and many more!

A very fun but educational time had by all!

October 2016 - Yorkshire Day!

We celebrated everything that is great about Yorkshire by having a delicious lunch prepared by our wonderful kitchen staff following a vote of all of our children.

Yorkshire Puddings all round!

October 2016 - girls football competitionGirls footballersGirls footballers

Our girls took part in their annual football competition at Richmond School. The girls looked to dazzle the opposition in their brand new orange kit (which was highly complimented by other teams!)

Again some excellent football was played with some wonderful perseverance and outstanding team work and support for each other. We played 6 games in total, winning 3, drawing 1 and losing 2. Our results meant we finished 3rd overall with 10 points out of the 7 teams there, a brilliant achievement.

A HUGE thank you goes to our parents who turned up and supported the team...we were just missing some Michael Syddall scarves!
