November to December 2019

December 2019 - Year 1/2 visit to Bowes Museum

Our year 1 and 2 classes have had a great time learning about how leisure activities have changed over time. They had great fun at Bowes Museum!

December 2019 - Catterick Crusaders and Year 5/6

Our year 5 and 6 classes had a great time with Adam from Catterick Crusaders this afternoon. That's all of key stage 2 worked with over a couple of weeks! We're so lucky to have these people who come and work with our children and the best bit is...there's more to come! Interested? Get over to Catterick Crusaders for more!

December 2019 - Sportshall Athletics Results

Magnificent result from the sporthall athletics competition...another HUGE well done to everyone who competed and also all who took part in trials in school.

December 2019 - Sportshall Athletics Competition

Outstanding work from out sportshall athletics team in the competition at Richmond School. We quite clearly have children who have springs in their legs! Their determination to be faster and throw and jump further than the other teams was clear to see. At the moment, we don't know where we finished as there is also an afternoon session...we'll let you know as soon as we can. Fantastic job everyone!

November 2019 - Indoor Winter League Kicks Off

A solid effort from our footballers who started the winter football league at ML Sports and Fitness. A tight victory (2-1), a draw (1-1) and a defeat (4-1) were the results from a very mixed night. Roll on next week when our other team play. Look out for results on the 13th December when we have a 'Syddall derby' with both our teams playing each other!

November 2019 - Year 5/6 Mayan Feast!

Our year 5s and 6s enjoyed cooking 'Mayan style' when they used our fire pit to cook corn. The general feeling was that they tasted quite good despite the odd burnt bit! We also managed a cheeky marshmallow which we decided the Mayan's probably didn't have!

November 2019 - Catterick Crusaders and Year 3/4

Our year 3 and 4 classes had great fun with Adam from Catterick Crusaders who took them for some touch rugby taster sessions.

November 2019 - Girls Active

6 of our year 5 girls attended a 'Girls Active' Day which was organised by the Youth Sport Trust. They had an amazing day thinking about what can be done to keep girls (and everyone!) active and playing sport and how some of the barriers can be removed. They have already come up with some superb ideas and will now form our 'Sports Crew' to lead and inspire others in school. They also spent time with the inspirational Jenna Downing (Inline skater and 10 time British Champion).

November 2019 - Crucial Crew

Our year 6 class have been to Crucial Crew at Carlton Lodge, taking part in workshops which focus on Fire Safety, Safety around electricity, Fire Safety, Awareness of Abuse, Water Safety, LGBTQ, consequences and drugs and alcohol. Many thanks to North Yorkshire Police for organising such a valuable event.

November 2019 - Girls Football Competition

Amazing work from our girls footballers who competed in their tournament at our school. We played 4 games and finished with a 0-0 draw, a 1-0 defeat and then 5-1 and 5-0 victories. They were magnificent throughout and unlucky in the end however we are very proud of a 3rd place finish. Great work ladies.

November 2019 - Year 6 visit East Barnby

Our year 6s had a simply wonderful time at East Barnby for the week on their residential visit. For more picture and information, click on the East Barnby tab above or visit our Facebook page.

November 2019 - Punch and Judy visit

Our Foundation Stage, Year 1 and 2 classes had a visit from Punch and Judy as part of their topic and quite simply loved it! Fun times!

November 2019 - Year 3/4 Bowes Museum Visit

Our year 3 and 4 classes have had a wonderful time at Bowes Museum looking at their Stone Age topic in more detail. The workshops have reinforced everything the children have learned and inspired them to learn more.

November 2019 - Area Football Finals

Great work from our football team who took part in the area football finals following their success at our local competition. We came second in a tough group following a win and a defeat which set up a semi final against a very good Spennithorne/Middleham team. A game which we should’ve really won went to penalities and unfortunately this time, we missed out by 1, losing 5-4. Joint 3rd following a 2-2 draw in the 3rd/4th place play off is nothing to be ashamed of!! Superb stuff which on another day could have had a very different result! Area finalists...not bad!

November 2019 - Judo Fun...

We had some wonderful judo taster sessions in school with Glynn who runs a judo club in the area. A wonderful time was had by all.

November 2019 - Cross Country Finals

Superb work from our Cross Country runners who qualified for the level 3 North Yorkshire Finals which was held at a very wet and muddy Dalby Forest. Some excellent racing against some great runners from across the County. We are very proud of them.
