News September to October 2018

October 2018 - Year 6 @ Crucial Crew

Our wonderful Year 6s took part in a morning of Heath and Safety organised by The Crucial Crew at RAF Leeming. Year 6 had a great time learning all about different emergency services and what to do in an emergency situation. This was a fun and inspiring way to learn some vital life skills for the future. Thank you very much Crucial Crew!

October 2018 - Cross Country

A huge well done to our amazing cross country runners who took part in the event at Richmond School. We had some terrific results on a truly challenging course. Well done to Tegan (1st), Mia (2nd), Noah (4th), Caiden (6th), Omari (7th), Trinity (8th), Riley (12th) and Noah (13th) in their respective races as well as the effort that was put in by everyone overall. Great work!

October 2018 - Key Stage 1 Great Fire of London Workshop

Year 1 and 2 took part in a Great Fire of London Workshop as part of their topic work. They had a wonderful time learning even more about the great event with some hands on experiences. Well done to all of key stage 1.

October 2018 - Year 6 Sponsored Walk

There are no words to describe the achievement of our year 6s. Their determination to complete the ‘Go Big or Go Home’ sponsored walk was simply astonishing. The mammoth 14 mile walk was to raise sponsorship for their East Barnby trip which takes place in November. It couldn’t have happened without our wonderful parents who have been absolute angels all day supporting everyone to be successful. Thank you and well done to everyone!

October 2018 - Netball Tournament

Huge congratulations to our netball team who competed superbly at the competition at Richmond School. After some hard fought matches, we ended up as beaten semi-finalists! Great work all round...very proud of everyone. For full results, click HERE

October 2018 - Year 3/4 Football Tournament

Yet again, more wonderful work from our Michael Syddall sporting heroes. This time, year 3/4 football! Everyone was super excited despite the cold, wet conditions for the tournament at Richmond School. Defending was definitely a strength of the team throughout the competition with our only goals coming in a friendly match later in the afternoon! Even though we lacked goals, the determination and attitude of all of our team was amazing. Well done to all involved. For full results, click HERE

October 2018 - Harvest Festival

Thank you to everyone who joined us at St Anne's for our harvest festival despite the weather!

October 2018 - Year 5/6 Playmakers and Athlete Visit

Wonderful work from our year 5 and 6 classes learning all they need to know to become 'PlayMakers', a Sports Leader UK Programme. We even had a break to listen to Olympian and Commonwealth Games gold medal winning gymnast Craig Heap. Very motivational, inspirational and funny! All in a day's work!

September 2018 - Macmillan 'Coffeeless Coffee Morning'

What an amazing day we had raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Our non-uniform day and 'coffeeless coffee morning' raised an astonishing £369.48 which will be donated to support people and their families living with cancer. We can not thank our whole school community enough for everything everyone has done for today to raise what it has...from all the wonderful cake donations from friends and families to our school council doing a super job organising the event. Simply...thank you ❤️

September 2018 - Year 5/6 Football Tournament

A huge well done to our year 5/6 footballers who took part in the annual  tournament at Richmond School. Our 'red and black' team played superbly and showed amazing passion and determination, drawing 2 and losing 2 of their games with the 2 draws being very close to victories. Our 'blue and black' team drew 3 and won 1 of their games, missing out on making the semi finals by 1 goal...unbelievably for the third year in a row! Great work but it just didn't go our way. Well done everyone!

September 2018 - School Games

We are busy preparing for another exciting term of School Games activities. The first half term sees several events taking place including football and netball as well as preparing for sportshall athletics and gymnastics next term. Our key stage 1 children will be attending a multi-skills festival and as always, we have a very busy extra curricular programme. Please ensure your child is signed up to all that they would like to do and if you have any suggestions for clubs or events we could run in the future, please contact the school office or Mr Saunders.
